Just saw a C6th lap steel instruction DVD by Rob Haines listed on ebay. Is anyone familair with his teaching or DVD. I haven't heard of him before. I am just finishing up the Mel Bal C6th book by Dewitt Scott and am looking for some additional learning material.
Thanks,
George

Thanks for the kind words on the DVD.
I've been in Nashville since 1981 and played with a number of country artists. Since I play mandolin as well I hang out with a lot of bluegrassers. In the last 10 years or so my day job has become video production. Check out the anedotes page on my website:

I just got finished viewing your DVD, Rob. I think you did a great job of explaining things for beginners, especially picking and blocking. The video explains and shows the technique of right hand blocking the best of any I've seen.
Maybe now I can learn to make my lap steel sound like that! I'm gonna be working on it. Thanks for doing a great job!
When is the next one coming out?
