I do not know if they work for heavier guage strings on this particular guitar. I do know that I spent a lot of time tweaking my D8 (which was in real rough shape when I got it). My D8 needed new tuners because they slipped. I am assuming this is a common problem with the lollipop tuners and heavier guages. I used lighter guages on the T3 with fair tension and it worked fine.
The pickups have an even sound level, and they are the trapezoid type. They have nice tone.
There is some slight wear on the fretboard of the inside neck, all others look mint. Some of the screws appear to not be original, might be zinc or aluminum, not sure. The electronics, switch are all original. The tophat looks like a replacement though.
The actual finish looks like a light natural nitro coat. I am not sure if it is original, or they were made that way or not but it looks original to me. There are no scratches, chips etc. There is a Fender decal on the front. All the diamonds are intact. Has legs, no case.
I am no expert on these guitars, but its a great Triple Neck. I suppose the next best thing would be a Stringmaster or a Bigsby---either of those are out of my league!
