Yes, unfortunately there isn't much demand for RtR tape any more - just a few of us dyed in the wool purists use them. I think I paid about $100 for my AMPEX 10 years ago. Still today, if you aren't working in digital, they are the best of the best.

Best Compilation of Country Music?

Since there doesn't seem to be much online in the way of sheet music for Country, what would be your recommendations for the best compilations of Country Music?

I have done quite a bit of inlay work and always use ordinary carpenter's glue, white or yellow.

I suppose it was a Steel Guitar Christmas in a way since it all started this fall. A couple of years ago my sister brought me an old National resonator guitar that had been in the family for decades and ignored pretty badly for the last 20 years. It was in bad shape and I wasn't sure what to do with...

Well I donno why we need all those darned numbers for temperature. Everybody knows there's only five temperatures anyway:

Friggin HOT, Hot, nice, cold, and FRIGGIN COLD!

Lately Manitoba has been the last one.

Oh, I am sorry. Did I interrupt the discussion of nothing in particular?

All that backing is from BIAB??? Pretty impressive....

How long does it typically take you to put together the backing track Doug?

(I may have to invest in BIAB after I learn to play!)

Another beautiful recording Doug!

Rhythm on batteries?

Does anybody know if there is a simple rhythm box out there that runs on batteries for under $100? I picked up a beginner's electric steel for learning (rather than knocking about my National) and would like to play it through my home stereo (with mixer) and would like to have a rhythm box to go wit...

Electric Steel (for restoration) - FOUND

The 1934 National Trojan restoration will be complete in a week or two and I am thinking (<-- bad idea!) about the possibility of restoring an electric lap or pedal steel. (We have long cold winters here in Manitoba!) If anybody has a beat up piece of "junk" collecting dust in the basement...
