Thanks, Neil
Just heard the sad news. He literally taught me everything I know about pedal steel, and was just a funny and interesting person besides. I've still got several hours of recorded lessons on my computer that I refer to when I'm struggling with a song or technique, and I think going back to those less...

Possible Replacement Tuners for Emmons SKH
Hi all, First, my steel is working fine, it's just the standard "stiff Sperzel key syndrome"I've read about on the forum from time to time. I see that sometimes players will replace their Sperzels with Grovers, which sounds like a cool idea, as I've always liked their guitar tuning machine...

E to Eb lowering lever adjustment on all-pull Emmons LeGrand
Hi all-the bell-crank that actuates the cross rod broke on my guitar. I have a spare that I used from a change/pedal on the guitar I'm not using and I got it put back together with the same positions as far as the bellcrank and rods. My issue now is that I can get a E to Eb or an E to F change to wo...

Thanks to Joe Naylor at Steelseat.com!
Hi all,
Just wanted to post a big thank you to Joe Naylor for some great customer service-I've been using one of his seats for about 5 years now and needed a cap for one of the legs so it wouldn't rock back and forth, and he very generously sent me extras along with some funny stories...

Hi all, Thanks for all the feedback. Yeah, those Ken Fox amps are pretty cool lookin', but I'm thinking of a cheap(er) high-headroom single 15" or 12" speaker-equipped amp. I've used tube amps all along, but I'm more and more intrigued with solid-state amps as they're comparatively dirt-ch...

Hi Mike, I was tuning the guitar recently and had a few questions. Is there an order you usually go in for tuning/string changing? When you tune, do you always hold down the A and B pedals to compensate for cabinet drop, and it seems like some of the nylon nuts tighten clockwise and some tighten cou...

String recommendations for Emmons SKH Legrande?
Hi all,
I just got a black Emmons Legrande SKH (from another forum member-big thanks to Ron Whitworth) and I thought I'd ask the community about favorite string sets-I'm still a novice, so I guess I'm looking for a good all-around string set? Also, any thoughts on stainless steel vs. nickel? Thanks!

GFI Student Model w/3X3 Emmons Set Up
Here is a lightly used GFI Student model- it's light weight, stays in tune, and is great for learning on. Never gigged-only taken to lessons. Some of the paint is coming off of the black frame on the player side, and there's a little spot on the mica in the back that could be re-glued, but very good...

Looking for SD-10 Emmons or Mullen
Hi all,
I'm in the market for an SD-10 in the $2500-2800 range, preferably an Emmmons, Mullen, or other quality brand? I'm moving up from a GFI student model and would like to try a differnt sound.
