E to Eb lowering lever adjustment on all-pull Emmons LeGrand
Hi all-the bell-crank that actuates the cross rod broke on my guitar. I have a spare that I used from a change/pedal on the guitar I'm not using and I got it put back together with the same positions as far as the bellcrank and rods. My issue now is that I can get a E to Eb or an E to F change to work, but not both-one change will be in tune but the other will leave the E note flat or sharp, depending. Any ideas? I saw the sticky on Overtuning/Undertuning...

It sounds like you don't have enough "play" in the E to Eb lever. The simplest way to fix that is to add a bit more travel to that lever. That change needs a lot more travel than the E to F change. Even though you put everything back in the same holes as before, taking things apart and re-assembling can change things enough to make a difference. And the fact that the bellcrank broke means that there was some strain on it, probably from not having enough travel in the first place.
