That was fantastic - thanks for posting. What an amazing group of musicians. As well as Greg Leisz I was really struck with the lead guitarist - Val McCallum? He's so big he makes those Tele look like toys. But what a player - very tasteful and always in support of the song.

Great playing and recording. I had chuckle at the end where some joker had modified the sign from "fragile roof" to "agile poof". :lol:

import squareneck resonator: nut issue

Looking from some help/advice on a nut issue I'm having on my Chinese import tricone. this is a Canuk brand, which I believe is very similar to the Republic brand. Anyway, the nut is now 'leaning' back towards the body of the guitar. I'm assuming it will eventually 'release' altogether at some point...

New Lap Steel Day - a Bluestem

Just got this yesterday - a new Bluestem. I'm a long time guitar player (30 years) and I picked up an old Mason lap steel a while back, just to figure if I was interested enough to keep it up. Anyway, I totally love playing the lap steel so I decided it was time for something new as the old Mason ha...

Re: from another newbie in ohio

I recently took up lapsteel i have a six and an eight string. greg cutshaw's tabs are excellent for learning. I use c6/ a7 tunings.Gregs page includes tabs audio samples played by him and generally a track without steel to practice with. He really got me started on the right path. Obviously he's al...

Heres our two. Bella, on the left, is an American Eskimo/Poodle mix. Copper, on the right, is a Terrier/Shiz-zhu. Bella is a big suck and never wants to leave my side. Copper has a deep, deep hatred of squirrels and spends most of his day ensuring they never enter our back yard. You can see in this ...

I just read your blog entry - congrats on your big hearted kindness on rescuing Sophie - she looks like a sweetheart. I cannot fathom the cruelty of people who subject these dogs to a life of fighting. And this is sophie: http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix0903/6655_sophers_1.jpg To read the whol...

I have masonite walls. So, this is what I do. http://s140.photobucket.com/albums/r39/rnshatz/Hangers/ Wow, thats quite the Lap Steel collection you have there. With all of those Gibsons, you'd probably enjoy this book: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gibson-Electric-Steel-Guitars-1935-1967/dp/1423457021
