I use a Digitech Tone driver before the volume pedal. It's cheap and I like the sound, sustain and bite.

I've used the Ibanez Tube Screamers, and many others over the years...

In the interest of this thread, I would like to know what the filter/electronic functions of these switches are?

BTW, I usually play with both on with my Evans preamp.

Thanks,

For 25 years I've shared this board with b0b and the other members. I joined in 1998 as the #82. I spent thousands of hours parsing the various threads, always paying special attention to b0b's conversations, as I assumed that he was the steel guitar god. Fortunately it was before companies monitore...

I've been wanting to get that Fender sound from my Peaveys for a while. The Dream 65 looked really good as did the Russian AMT F1 for bypassing the Peavey preamp and running into the power amp. The F1's are still available from their Italian warehouse, but both are pretty expensive for a gigging mus...

Thanks to all for filling me in on this. I've been on the forum forever and still didn't find those old posts. I love the tone Neil had on that tour. Can't believe that it was a solid state amp the way it broke up just right on the clean leads. I even own a Pro II, but gave up playing it years ago. ...

Neil Flanz's Gear On The Fallen Angel's Tour

I'm hoping some of you that knew Neil can fill me in on his guitar and amp on the 1973 Gram Parson's Fallen Angel tour? I've scoured pictures and video, but can't get a good shot of Neil. I'm assuming it's a Fender since the rest of the band is playing Fender and it has that high volume breakup that...

I'm with Erv, a little spit on my fingers before I put the picks on. I also use heat shrink tubing on the ears. I use the hard JF picks and it makes them comfortable, You have to leave it bare between the picks, but that doesn't seem to matter much with the comfort.

Hi Philippe, Thanks for responding, you looked good up there - great smile :) I should have guessed about the rods. I play an 82 Emmons out with no return springs and the rods are forever falling off at the top. I spend a lot of time laying on the floor with a flashlight between songs and getting ac...

Mickey Guyton Dec. 1 at the Rockefeller Center Tree Ceremony

Who is the steel player with Mickey Guyton performing Dec. 1 at the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony? Looks like his 3rd pedal rod is mounted at an angle towards the pickup end. I've never seen this arrangement. Any body have details? Bill https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/micke...

Duracells used to be my go to battery because they never leaked. Now they leak all the time and have ruined some of my very expensive equipment. Something changed.... I've started using Lithium batteries because they supposedly don't leak.

I've been using the Bill Lawrence / George L cables for many years and like the clarity. I've had a few times where I had to re tighten the knob on the righ...

I built several Op amp phase inverters for friends in the mid nineties for use as guitar preamps. They really helped cut down feedback, especially with hollow bodies.

Totally different application from the tube amp phase inverters, but a useful tool. You see them on a lot of acoustic amps now.
