I bought a soft case for a Martin Backpacker guitar and I put my pedal board and leg and rod pouch in it. Then I use my regular case for the body. It works good for me and lightens the load up a lot. I had that exact same experience with them several years ago. It was unbelievable how bad they smelled. I like the strings but I haven’t bought any since. I thought I was the only one with this problem.
