Yeah, Jim and Jim! Looking forward to hanging with you both.

Jean-Sebastien, unfortunately I just heard that they won't be streaming any of the sessions this year.

Paul and Loren, sorry you won't be able to make it this time around.

Jim, I'm not sure about Jeremy, but I'm planning on bringing an 8 string steel. That said, the material will definitely be playable on any common 6 string tuning.

Thanks for sharing, Andy and for the kind words fellas! It was a real treat to be involved in a project with some of my favorite musicians out here on the west coast. And for anyone keeping score, I used my Clinesmith frypan for this one.

Wechter Scheerhorn

Selling my c. 2007 Wechter-Sheerhorn squareneck resonator. Maple-laminate model. Gig bag included. I'm the original owner. I never got very far with bluegrass, so sadly it's spent most of its life in the case. Time to find it a better home. There are two small dings on the left side of the guitar an...

I'm so glad you can join, Peter. Looking forward to playing with you! Lloyd, hopefully the organizers will let you audit the classes at a later date. I'm hoping they'll let me watch Tyler's tenor banjo courses too. I recently picked up a Tubaphone Style M and really want to learn to play the thing. ...

While I'm firm believer that playing and singing along with records, transcribing, and spending time on and off the bandstand with other (hopefully stronger) musicians is the way, I've learned a lot from David Berkman's books... https://www.davidberkman.com/books And if you enjoy it, studying as muc...

Carl Kress' "Love Song" for lap steel

For Valentine’s Day, I wanted to share with you all my arrangement of Carl Kress’, “Love Song”. https://youtu.be/r4xiK4Nzxp4 It was a fun challenge to try and adapt Kress’ 5ths tuning to a steel tuned mostly in 3rds. It forced me to jump around way more than I’m used to, but also opened ...
