Thanks so much for posting this Barry, I appreciate the very kind words. I hope to see you once again! Ben, I sure miss seeing you at the jams. I hope you are doing well in sunshine land! Tiny, I remember playing a showcase show when you were with Gene and I was with Stampley. What a great player yo...

I am very sorry to hear of Shoji's passing. I picked with him while he still was working with David Houston and went bass fishing with him in Louisiana a few times. He loved to fish! A great violinist and great guy to boot. I also got to play Danny Boy with him on the Opry and it is a great memory I...

Dewire center gig 7/22

Boy, that is about 7 miles from me ( as the crow flies) LOL! I wish I could make it Jimbo, but I have a gig about 75 miles away and won't be able to make it. Have a great time!

Thanks for the response, Ricky. I was curious about the all-pull differences vs. the pull release guitars. Just in case I would have work on one!

The bushings I have for the crossrods are 5/16" diameter. I had 3 Marlen/Speedy West models over the years, and they all had the 5/16" crossrods. I never had an all-pull Marlen. What size of crossrods did they have Ricky? I just wondered......

Tommy, I have some swivels (10 or so), delrin bushings (for crossrods), lower stop screws, and a tuning wrench that fits the lower screws. Let me know, and I'll get them to you. They were all from a Speedy West model.

I have known Tommy since he started with Moe Bandy. He is a great picker, heck of a nice guy, and a great friend. And a man of many other talents, too I might add!

Sorry to hear this Tommy. I was lucky enough to play on some sessions years ago that he played on. I didn't know he was a fellow Virginian, Tommy. Great people for sure.
RIP, Ray.

Great job on that, Joe. Boy that song brings back a lot of memories. I played that song quite a few times when I worked for Joe Stampley back in the 80's. I sure enjoyed your rendition! Great tone, too.

Beautiful Cabinets

Mike, a beautiful job on those cabinets. Those are one of a kind for sure. Could I ask what jig did you use to cut the joints? You are quite the craftsman and tech!

Woody

Boy Steve, that is sad to hear. It has been months since I corresponded with Woody. He was a great guy, and very knowledgeable about many things. I learned how to build cases when I worked for him down at Hooper Trunk years ago, and his love of the old jazz guitarists got me listening to them when I...

Sperzel tuners

Sperzel does sell replacement tuners, but not a specific set for pedal steel. I have purchased individual tuners from them before to replace them on SKH Emmons guitars I had. (I have 2 SKH guitars right now). I specified right and left (bass and treble strings) for orientation. Anyway, the tradition...

I would like to buy an empty cabinet for an LTD, or Nashville 400 in good shape. I have an LTD chassis and need a cabinet. I think a Nashville 400 cabinet is the same size (I may be wrong) and could be used. Thanks.

Of course your "Texas Tone" is certainly a lot better than mine, Tommy. You are a great picker my friend! I do have two of the "Long John" bars, though. Great bars! One for each of my Emmons guitars. I need all the help I can get!

Tommy, I got a John Pearse "Long John" bar from here on the Forum. It is a great bar, and I really like it. It is 15/16" diameter and 3 1/2" long. I get a great "Texas Tone" with it, too. LOL!
