Bob, thank you for all you have done for the Steel guitar community. I think I have been a member since almost the beginning. You have brought us together as a STEEL GUITAR family. Your impact has been unmeasurable. Enjoy your retirement. Well deserved.

Downloading 2023

I just recently purchased and downloaded the online version of BIB 2023.
It took hours to complete the download.
Is it my computer/internet or has others had this problem?

emmons online book

I ordered and downloaded the electronic version to my IPAD. Reading it now. Be prepared to spend 30 minutes on the download. It's not simple. You have to download an app that reads their version. Kindle and others not an option. The app is free so that's not a problem. It took several tries to get i...

Thanks Larry. Appreciate the comments. I'm envious of the fellows who were able to take lessons from Jack Ryder and Rocky Caple........or anyone who played a pedal steel. After the 20 or so OAHU lessons I then took a few from a lady in Coffeyville Kansas who taught the Eddie Alkire method. That was ...

California steel players

Any Steel players near Santa Barbara or Montecito California? My oldest son lives in Montecito. I would like to get together or meet steel players in this area when I visit or perhaps move near there.

Janet, Jim was so supportive of you and your passion for our beloved instrument. He always beamed when you played as if it was the first time he heard you play. I cant even imagine the miles you two have shared playing at the various steel shows all these years. Jim will be missed. Prayers for you l...

Stringmaster pickups

I just had the same problem with my triple neck. I had the pickups on the first neck (the one closest to me) rewound. Turns out it was just soldering connections that had come loose.

Guys, I finally got around to reinstalling the pickups from Sentell. I think they are going to sound great. I have a triple neck Fender Stringmaster that I have owned for close to 30 years and dearly love the guitar. However, It sounds like my pickups are going bad. Guess I am lucky as I didn't have any battery damage. Thanks for the picture. Now I know where the battery is. There wasn't any damage as shown. I checked the serial number to get a build date and it appears the unit could be 20 years old. There are two round stickers on the unit indicating it was c...
