Yes I have had problems also 25.5" excel 2005 model

Best thing is the pre stretch the string up to E with a puller before tightening the holder screw. (bottom screw) Yes a number 12 string Be sure not to over tighten on the grub screw or it will pinch the string and will break. Let it sit for a while and slowly bring the string up to tune. finger pul...

How about a simple video showing some grips and 1 4 5

I'm a B6 - E9 half-ass player. I went down stairs and played the notes and the lever pulls and I hear a lot of dissident notes. I have to admit I'm not a single note player, and more of a rhythm guitar player. How about someone showing some simple songs keys of E - D - A and G with 1-4-5 chords? The...

Thank you

I'm pouring a Stella and going to the studio to study this breakthrough.... The main reason is string breakage on G# and I'm always up for the latest break through. Do you have any chord grips in chart form? Your video is wonderful but it's complicated if you haven't played all your life. I have a s...

You are missing the real trick to the lock... The SEE-SAW.

On my 2006 version Excel guitar, !st model of the See-Saw, the right side knee levers are different for E9 and B6. Yes two different functions. On the latest version that Greg has, I thought the pedals ABC have different pulls also when the lock lever is pulled in lock. Greg just informed me ...Not ...

Excel #3 G# String Breakage

Mike..... Thanks in advance... Mine was breaking at the changer "inside" not at the tuner. After 30+ strings.... I used a round tooth pick and found a short piece of wire inside and I think I fixed it. My biggest problem was tightening the #3 string. I could not get enough pull on it unles...

New tuning at changer?

I have a older model Excel S12 25.5 scale and have always had problems with tuning 3rd string G#. If I over tighten the set screw the 12 ga. string breaks and if I under tighten the string slips and I run out of adjustment. Vendor List? Does Thursday night show require $35.00+$10.00?

Anyone know which vendors are coming? Are there going to be music rooms like in the past? Is the $35.00 admission required to go to the Thursday night show or get into the music rooms? I would like to invite a number of guests to come to the Thursday night show and pay the $ 10.00 fee but not sure I...

OK I have the bug. how should I start over ?

OK I have a wonderful Excel Uni-12 and have decided that if I am going to get better I have to go back a few steps. As Don Curtis and I discussed many times (yes drinking Heineken's) How did it get here and why isn't it better? Just so everyone knows, I was the one who convinced him to move on to a ...

Very interest in your tuning as an option to my UNI 12

I am looking forward to reviewing your charts and thank you for send them to me today. I started playing at 52 years old with an E9 and quickly migrated to Uni-12 and have felt a little lost for the past few years when my pal and mentor "Don Curtis" died. I convinced Don to convert to Uni-...

Any E9-E6 "Real Universal" players out there?

I have read many times about the E9-E6 "Real Universal" copedant by the late Al Marcus. Sounds very interesting to me. Is there any video explainations and demos of this tuning? Wire sizes? Anyone bringing a rig to the St. Louis show with this set up? Thank you in advance. David Munson

Losing your Hearing or Losing Tone? Check your pickup!

A few years back I decided to find a new guitar and a lighter amp. The old one was Uni 12 Excel and amp was a Nashville 400 with a 15" JBL Fender 4 ohm recently re-coned. Great tone and full of low end but I felt the Nashville 400 handle was going to fail every time I went up or down the stair...

Wow New Stereo Steel Fan

Last weekend at the 2011 Steel convention in St. louis I saw the Stereo Steel Amp by Walker. I currently own two Nashville 112's with FOX chips and could not believe how flat my amps sound in comparison to the Walker Stereo Steel rig with 15" JBLs. As the Monkee's said "I'm a believer"

Just upgraded from 2009.5 to Version 2011 WOW

I never thought an upgrade to 2011 would be such a difference. The sounds is as good as any band I played with. The drummer plays wonderful brushes and nevers slows down, the bass player slides up and down the upright bass and I can control the level of the guitar player. The B3 organ with leslie s...
