Bobby Preston

My best friend Bobby Preston passed about 11 p.m. last night in Rolla, MO. Wife Linda has not had time to make any arrangements but I thought his musician buddies should be made aware. Bobby was a great guitar player and worked with many down through the years. He was also the guitarist on at least ...

Jack Wray

Does anyone know the whereabouts of steeler Jack Wray. He played in central MO for a long time 30 or so years ago. Somebody said he moved to St. Louis, but that's not confirmed. No emergency, just some old friends wondering about one who has slipped thru a crack. Please help.

Many years ago I teamed up with Paul Jackson. Paul said we need a steelman and I know just the one and he's in WVA right now. Paul and I drove to Wheeling but could never catch up with Jim Murphy. Not too long before his passing I had my first chance to meet Jim. I told him we'd never met but that P...

Terry, I am so sorry I could not make the show. I came down with what the docs are calling colitis (an inflamation of the colon) and spent some time in the hospital at Lebanon. I am home now, but am still weak and hurting. I Hope you had a good turnout and hopefully I will be available the next time...

I'm so sorry my health kept me from driving that 175 miles from here to there. I really wanted to be there to listen to some I've never heard and to visit with a bunch of you that I call friends. I'm glad it was a success. I'll say the Cubs' mantra again: Wait'll next year!

I havce every intention of being in Baxter Springs this year. So many of my friends will be there and they tell me how much I miss. And, if all goes well, I'll have a couple of cousins with me who really like the music. Looking forward to my first trip to your show.

Back many years ago, long before "You Lay So Easy" Bobby came to our town to do a show. As an DJ at the time I had the pleasure of interviewing him on-air, then as an almost-bass player I got to play in the band that backed him locally. I guess we did OK. He called us a few weeks later and...

Glad you had a good time. I will do this again, but not in the heat of summer. Thanks to you and Jeanne and to all who ...

Wound up with too many conflicts for the June date and the city was good enough to allow me to change date to July 1. Thanks, Larry and Jean. The venue for this affair is a community center. No alcohol, no smoking. The only trouble we ever had was a small tornado about 6 years back. Nobody was hurt, but we did have to shut down early so people could take cover. Maybe God thought we were a little too loud and wanted...
