I have prewar Frypan and B7. Both pickups are bright. I tend to play them roll off the tone 3/4 way around.

I like wound A string. Because chimes (harmonics) on plain A sound dead.

Thank you, David and Joe! Sure I love sound of the Sons of Hawaii. Feet Rodgers and Gabby are my favorite players. I am fully inspired by Maile Serenaders Vol.1&2 album. The bar I use is made by Todd Clinesmith. The size is 7/8 X 3-1/4. It is not so long but regular size. https://www.clinesmithi...

Rescue data of the CD of Jerry Byrd’s big book

I have recently acquired used Jerry Byrd instruction course book. However two CDs can’t be read by any CD player or drive. Anybody know how to rescue the data from CDs? Or, I will appreciate if anyone share sound files to me. https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1712/541_687517B094CE4E1BBBEB1DB5...

I have a few arrangements with three fret slants on the low b7-1-3. So if you have it on say the seventh fret, dominant chord...you forward slant with the middle string in place, giving you a tonic triad 1-3-5. I use it when I play 'Akaka Falls. I like that emotional lick very much. It is one of th...

I had a same problem with my A-22. It’s from typical pole piece issue. Sanding and putting a thin aluminum foil shim between the pole piece and the horseshoe solved the problem.

I use SKB viola case. It is sturdy, light and fits perfectly.
A minor modification is needed. You can cut a bit of inner foam at the head compartment.

If anybody might not believe that, I bought this one. :) The guitar is on the way to me now. The seller reduced the price. Bobby Ingano gave me a suggestion as $2000+ is a good price for any prewar Frypan. He said a lot of old timers in Hawaii put the tone control next to the volume. I decided as he...
