Jeff Newman DVD pauses reply
I have the Up from the top A & B, Minors, Just play melody, and Techniques. They were all purchased from Fran. I did return one, but the new one also has the same problem. All of Jeff's DVDs contain pauses when playing. It is not from going forward or selecting. I think it is the old VOB format....

Pauses playing Jeff Newman's DVDs
When playing Jeff's DVD there are periodic pauses from 1 to 20 seconds. It does not happen at the same spot if you replay, close though. Tried playing on DVD player, Lap Top (Vista), and my tower PC (X/P). It occurs under all there environments. Any ideas? Dick Rivera

C6th Vs E9th tuning
I've been playing for about three years on my Carter SD-10 E9th tuning. A friend of mine has started using his C6th neck. He said it is eaiser to play and more fun. My favorite music is Santo and Johny, and 50/60 rock and roll. My goal is just to play along to old rock & roll records and band in...

Metal mesh laptop stand.
You can purchase a metal mesh laptop stand at Wallmart. It is made by Rubbermaid. The metal mesh acts as a heat snyc and gives additional air space between the laptop and tabletop. You can also adjust the angle of the laptop base making keyboard access less difficult. following is Rubbermaid's site....

Tabs, for two note scales
I have Jeff Newman's up from the top Series. Jeff lists two note harmony scales using the 'F' and/or the 'D' lever. Is there tab that shows two note harmony scales for all keys? Especially for string groups 3 & 5 and 5 & 8. Jeff's examples are basically 1,4 &5 cord scales. Thanks, Dick

Found main Laptop for noise. Dick
The noise emenated from the "Jeff Newman 'D' lever" DVD. It sounded like the mixer was ungrounded. I Played an Eagles DVD perfect. Next, played an MP3 song from the laptop, again perfect. I should have kept it simple and checked the DVD first, Oh well. Dick

Nasville 112 CD input
I connected my Gateway Laptop headset output to the Nashville 112 CD input. It sounds good and volume can be adjusted from the Laptop. However, the volume is fine for listening but too low to practice playing along. Has anyone connected Laptop to a preamp and out the CD the input? I have a mixer but...

4th string ringing at fret 8, Carter SD-10
I use Jagwire strings, the 4th string is 14 guage. I turned off the amp (Nash 112) to rule out the amplifier. The 4th string still rings, mostly at the 8th & 13 fret with or without the amp. I've tried different pressure on the bar and muting behind the strings. Any suggestions or known causes. ...

Copedents, Carter S10 G&E lever
What is the cents setting for tuning lever "G' and lever 'E' on a Carter S10. The 'G' lever raises string 1 +1 and lowers string 6 -1. The 'E' lever lowers string 2 -1/2 and lowers string 9 -1/2). Thanks, Dick

Guitar amp flutter
Experimented more. Sound is also like a low reverb rumble, but no effect on the tone. Setting reverb to zero made no difference. The flutter does not occur when picking and muting between frets, sliding the bar toward the keyhead, or using pedals. It mainly occurs when picking strings 3 & 5, sli...
