Nice playing there Kay. What area of Lake Garda do they play in? My wife and I go regularly to that resort, but so far only been to the north end of the lake around Riva, and not seen or heard them there.

I think you're doing the right thing by going with C6th, Its a very versatile tuning for us learners!!! When I packed up I thought the only tuning ...

Hi Bob, yes they do look like Cyrils handiwork, I used to have one of his pickups on a lap steel. He built it to my specifications. If you do a "find a person" search on www.bt.com and look for "Proctor- C" it gives 4 results. 2 are in Leeds one is in Otley and the other is a lad...

The wooden nut, the pickups, the control knobs and the bridge assembly remind me very much of an "Artisan". Seems like a good point to start with if you are going multi-necks. I'll be watching this one!

Speaking of which, I have a George Piburn lap steel, and I found that the frets did not show up too well in subdued lighting, what with the wood being quite a light colour and the frets being etched into the plastic, so I got a piece of black paper exactly matching the dimensions of the plastic and ...

Yes I agree with all thats been said. Have had two of Baz's L.P.'s for years and still give them a spin now and then. Have never met or heard him play live, but hope to put that right on 1'st Dec.
I only wish I lived a bit closer to Baz, I could maybe get a few lessons!

I used to play R.G. in a little band in a place called Driffield in E.Yorkshire U.K. in the late 50's early 60's. The W.W.2. Bomber base there was handed to the U.S.A.A.F for some cold war activities,(or so we all believed). There used to be one American there who used to sometimes sit in with our l...
