Often adored, frequently trodden upon, always penniless. http://steelguitarforum.com/eek.gif Thanx Jim, sorry to crow but it ' s just SO darned exciting. The thing just sings and has that growl when I dig in; love it, great instrument. As to the competitive aspect of these contests, you hit it on th...

SO , if I understand correctly, http://steelguitarforum.com/rolleyes.gif I SHOULD apostrophize (is that a word?) the word it's in the following phrase: I like it's tone. Yes? That's what I thought and these things are important to me and being right helps me sleep at nite. Oh BTW, did I mention tha...

Gary, I'll have to listen from Windows; I don't have a .wmv plugin for Linux yet. They're ripping it up pretty good though; I don't even know if you could call them triplets, they're more like SIXlets! http://steelguitarforum.com/eek.gif The winner though, was a ringer; he took Winfield a couple yea...

Well, just returned home with a brand new Jerry Douglas model Dobro w/Fishman installed. My Lebeda is brighter on top and rounder on bottom so really, I prefer it's (does that apostrophe belong there?) tone to that of the Dobro; the Dobro is more muddy and midrangy. I installed a McIntyre feather in...

Ah, 'tis a Funny World

I entered the b@nj0 contest at Rockygrass this morning and didn't even place. I entered the dobro contest and made the finals! I mean, I wasn't even playing a real SONG; I was just NOODLING fer cryin' out loud. For the b@nj0 contest I worried and fretted and lost sleep and practiced and considered s...

Most of the blues guitar players I know suffer not only from an accent but more importantly a small vocabulary and a lack of fluency.

Actually Dave, I have played with some good slide players and when they play their leads and fills I just grab chord voices (usually moving but not glissing), sometimes in a really staccato way and it works fine. But then again, I make it a point to not clash with other instruments by striving for t...

Yeah, that b0b's a real hellion. Image

I just play all their licks back to them on steel and then do a bunch of stuff they can't do.

Using a slide on my Tele is a problem cuz my action is SO low that I accidentally fret the strings more often than not.

This only requires 2 dimensions of course.
But there are how many variables?
Not true gravity so a simple vector in free fall; balls of a few diff diameters; head, torso, arm2, leg2.

Seems rather rudimentary considering some things out there.
