Roger, Sorry to hear about Deacon.I remember the first steel he built was for J Bass. He didn't like it and gave it back.I wonder if it was the same one.

Anyone know the whereabouts of steel player Jack Bass.
He is from Columbus Ohio. Haven't heard from him any many years.Heard he was in California for a while.

Bob, It is not the one your thinking of. Glen and his brother Ralph were staff players on the Opry for years.They were from waynesboro TN. I talked to Glen a couple of years ago and he had moved out of state.

Anders, I think your right. I played accoustic on 99% of Marty's records in the late 70's and 80's. It was a mixture of his road band and studio players. I played accoustic guitar on most of BB records during that era. Don't recall a lot of steel though.
He did on use Pete Drake and Weldon some and also his road player as well. All I remember is his nickname "Gator" Don;t think this is much help.

Cody, Melba can't remember so I'll try and dig it out if she still has a copy.She thinks it was on UA records. I know it wasn't Loyd cause he didn't play on her stuff til 68 or later.
