Franklin Pedal
I recently received my brand new Mullen G2 S-12 extended E-9 3 pedals using the "Day" set up, and 5 knees. I've been curious about the Franklin pedal to lower the B strings to A and the middle G# to F#. What I'm wondering is if the Day copedent would interfere with the function of the Fran...

A very thoughtful reply.
Thank you, I had arrived at a very similar conclusion. Now to fine tune. I’ll check out the video too. This is great. I’m digging it.

Katana settings
I’m sure it’s been discussed here already but maybe y’all don’t mind repeating yourselves. I just got a brand new Katana mk2 . 100 watt 112 combo. I already have an earlier 100 watt Katana head. Question: Clean settings? Everything sounds like it’s got overdrive dialed in. What am I missing? Thanks,...

Very Happy
I’ve used mine for over 2 years. Recently the 9v power input jack broke but my tech fixed it and added a blue pilot light on the side. Now I’m cool.

Strike 2 against the Peavey
I really like my Peavey Nashville 112. Tone, size, all of that, but…it’s crapped out twice now. On the job. Just quits working. First time I got it fixed it was a circuit that somehow became loose? Don’t know exactly but it was a quick fix. I’ll take it in again today and get her fixed but I’m worri...

Steel guitar multitracking
I recently recorded one of my favorite Smotherman songs, You’re My Angel. I think there are at least 5 steel tracks. Loads of fun working these out.

Irene and I have very fond memories of Stu at the conventions in Mesa. His remarkable comeback from that stroke was inspiring.

Barcus Berry
Barcus Berry made a pair of piano transducers that affixed to the harp and soundboard respectively. There was a small preamp that could feed your board or amp. Look it up, haven’t seen a set in years.

New Mullen on its way to NZ
Funny you should ask. My new Mullen G2 has just been shipped to me in New Zealand. Send me a note and I’ll fill you in on how we did it.

Electrifying a reso guitar
Howdy, Probably asked and answered a hundred times but I’m in a hurry, I’ll ask again. I am the proud owner of a Gretsch square neck reso which my lovely wife won at the SWSGA convention 2020. I love noodling around on it but have not had occasion to play it live with a band…yet. So in a short week ...

Steel seat kit
Does anyone know of a pre cut kit to assemble a pak a seat style stool? Or, drawings and instructions to build one? Rather than pay for shipping to New Zealand for a fully assembled seat, I thought maybe I could get a flat packed kit. Is there a plan published on line to build my own? Are certain pa...

Objective Product Review. New Mullen v New MSA
Considering each for : Service and Support, Order to Build time, Price to Value.
Easy of set up and even the stock cases. Hey, it’s a big investment and I’ve at least narrowed it down. What say y’all?

In 1983 I had the greatest gig ever. Playing at Opryland right after the TV show concluded. Each evening the Nashville Now show went live from the stage door lounge at the Opryland Hotel. Sad loss
The Steel Guitar community is small even though it spans the globe. When one falls, we all suffer a loss. Sad news this evening that California Steel Guitarist Mike Perlowin has passed away of heart failure. His classical steel guitar recordings of Stravinsky's Firebird Suite and the score of West S...

Bolt through leg
I hated the odd clamp thing on the Sierra Olympic so I simply drilled holes in the legs and affixed bolts and use wing nuts. Much easier.
