Steel guitar multitracking

Post by Bill Bassett »

I recently recorded one of my favorite Smotherman songs, You’re My Angel. I think there are at least 5 steel tracks. Loads of fun working these out.

Yes, good work, although I have some reservations about multitracking. One of the players that inspired me to learn pedal steel was Al Perkins, but it took me a while to figure out that his solo on So Many Times with Steve Stills and Manassas isn't actually playable as it's done in at least two passes! Confusing for a beginner trying to work out how things are done :)

Taking nothing away from you though, Bill!
