Protools recorded direct sounds bad_is there an easy fix?
I just got back a mixdown of some stuff we recorded direct to protools and it sounds pretty bad tone-wise. We chose to record direct because it was late at night and we couldn't make alot of noise. The project is essentially done and cannot be changed at this point. Too bad, won't do that again! Jus...

F/S Fender T8 Stringmaster
f/s: Fender Triple 8 in good condition with black tolex case. Best I can tell, it is from ~1967-1970: pickups on the front neck plate say 3/8/67 and the volume pot #'s are 70-2125-0034 and 70-2125-0375. Missing one of the bridge cover plates. The paint is original with a few minor dings. Has that goo...

D10 for my Fender T8 + cash
I play E9 PSG and lap steel, love both, and need consolidate to one big heavy instrument instead of 2. I am looking for a Fessenden, Shobud, or D10 of decent quality and would like to trade my Fender T-8. I have owned the T8 for about 1 year, it plays well and is in good condition, 60's model I thin...

Your steel sounded great in Georgetown! Sounded like the electronic manipulations you made did the trick. Drop me an email at jon_Kemppainen@yahoo.com sometime!

Lots of talk about practice and mind set in this thread and those will get you far but another recommendation to deal with stage freight is simply to play out more. Play in Bars where its not so quiet as in church. They rarely hear the mistakes with all the hubbub going on. (Usually in church you co...

Drop pin Emmons vol pedal
I am modifying my Dekley to fit an Emmons volume pedal. Can anyone let me know the distance from the right front leg that I need to drill the hole in the pedal bar. Also, what diameter does the hole need to be? I'll be fabricating the tabs, or if I get lucky, I'll find some of those too. Thanks, Jon

Drop pin for Emmons vol pedal
I am looking for a drop pin for an Emmons volume pedal. I'm retrofitting a Dekley S10. I think I can make the tabs, but I'd consider buying them as well.
Thanks,
Jon

Kudos to Neil! I just took my first lesson with him and enjoyed every minute of it. He is a very patient, generous and knowledgeable instructor. He is also a great resource of steel guitar history. If you've been wanting to take lessons here in Central Texas, go ahead and get lessons from Neil! Jon ...
