Nice Shuffle Beat - Mac Wiseman - Emmons Too?

Tommy's got it right. That was indeed Bob Lucier. He did play steel for the Tommy Hunter Show but I think this was a clip from George Hamilton's show that George did for awhile in Canada.

When you use delay do you still use reverb on the amp? Also, what digital delay unit do you use?

John Fabian passes - Online Memorial Service

Ann, I just found out about John. What can be said at a time like this? I am stunned and feel so so sorry for you, your family and the Carter family. Our prayers and sympathy go out to you. I feel so honoured that I was able to work in St. Louis with John, you and the rest of the Carter people. If t...

I agree whole heartedly! My dad and his musical friends produced the first music I heard. Dad was my inspiration and main enthusiast. He even built my first pedal steel which now resides in the Barn Dance Society Museum in Wingham, Ontario, Casnada.

Hughey lick in Games Daddies Play

John Hughey did a great "rake" type lick on the intro of Conway Twitty's Games Daddies Play. Does anyone know the lick and could you tab it?

I would also like to extend my deepest sympathy to Ed and his family. Irene was always at the steel guitar events with Ed and was a gracious hostess in the hospitality suite in St. Louis.

The steel player on Carroll Baker's Play Your Steel Huitar For Me was non other than Lloyd Green. He was also the session leader for the album. I think Carroll basically wrote the song for Lloyd.

My dad didn't ever play steel at all. Although he did and still does play fiddle. He taught me to appreciate and enjoy music. And better yet - - he built my first steel guitar. He must have had a vision that I would play. It was a double neck 10 string with 8 pedals and 1 knee lever was eventually a...

Tab for Dixie Chicks' Let 'Er Rip

Has anybody taken a stab at the tab for the steel break in the Dixie Chicks' Let 'Er Rip? LLoyd Maines really does let it rip. It's tough to figure out and just as tough to execute.

That would be awful if George didn't use steel on his album. I don't know for a fact but I was guessing that the song George did on the benefit concert last night (with the beautiful Franklin break) would be on his new CD. Hard to play steel but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks a lot guys for the quick response. I had looked at my George Strait recordings for the song but had forgotten to look on the box set of his greatest hits (da!). So now I just have to figure out the great C6 solo - - should be fun.

Yes the song I'm talkin' about is the one by Holly Dunn. I don't have a recording of it but I had a couple of forumites send me their ideas on the intro. It helped me remember. I think the song by the Mavericks is just called There Goes My Heart.
Thanks to all!
