I worked with Art Sanchez in Riverside and San Berdoo in 1960. There was never a finer person. I think he died a little over 10 years ago. Jay Dee says he learned steel from Art. Art went to the Palamino Club after we worked together. wally

Thanks Roger. I spent some time in San Antone around '45 and look forward to going again. I think I'll take a couple months and do all the big Texas towns. Sounds great.

Thank you guys. Looks like I am heading for the greater TEXAS area. I love the food in Chi-town but can't stand the wind!!! LOL I'll get by there again one day.

City with live bands??

I want to spend a couple of months in/near a city with live REAL country bands with STEEL in honky tonks. Does that exist anywhere today? Except Nashville (I live near there). Perhaps in Texas?? Thanks Wally

There is a neat reconstructed mountain village between G'burg and Cherokee that is free and nice to wander thru. Go canoeing or floating at Townsend. In Cherokee there is a mill where you can get all kinds of flour, meal, etc. ENJOY
