Thank you for your kind advices! I saw the reviews on harmonycentral, which where all quit good, except for the one that claims you can do better with cheaper amps. I was also a little puzzled by the variety in pricing. A hand wired amp should normally cost more than 550? I was sort of curious if an...

Anybody familiar with these?

Hello!
I'm looking for a new small amp for smaller gigs, something like a Fender Deluxe rev, or similar: http://www.valvetechamps.com
Anybody familiar with those valvetech amps? I couldn't find any soundclips on their site.

Thanks
Christer

Music man q

A fellow musician has an old amp head which I think must be some sort of music man. It is very beat up, but seems to work ok. Due to its condition (and my knowledge to Music Man) its hard to find out exactly what model it is. I read somewhere that the music man (men? http://steelguitarforum.com/tong...

I'm also a novice when it comes to electronics, but after having experienced 220V at the age of 7 (I was trying to make a door bell work, aaauuuuuuch), I'm a little more careful.... Image

Hello Jay! It seems as if you have opened the can in both ends... http://steelguitarforum.com/smile.gif Thank you for the input on the Torres mod. I visited an unofficial Hot Rod web site http://studentweb.eku.edu/justin_holton/ an excellent resource for Hot Rod/deville owners. I wasn't aware of Tor...

Modding amp(s)

Hi! I have a Fender hot rod deluxe amp that I'm considering buying a mod kit to from Torres amps: http://freespace.virgin.net/vyse.co/ I'm happy with the amp, but would like the challenge of modding it. At least I think so.. http://steelguitarforum.com/wink.gif I have a friend of mine who built a To...

Thanks I tried out Rick Aiellos tuning chart, and it sounds so much better than tuning all the strings "dead on" 440 hz. Is there any reason to why players seem to differ on what notes to sharp/flat, or is this just what your ears like? (Rick Aiello tunes the c to 440, while Bobbby Lee pre...

I got my Red Rajah a couple of days ago.
Whoa! This bar is fast! It also reduces a lot of the unwanted string noise I get with the Dunlop bar. Thanks Chuck!

Leavitt tuning

I've been looking at the different tunings on Brads page of steel. I found the Leavitt tuning, and it seems that you can make a lot of nice "tension" chords with this tuning. I have read some of the interviews in Andy Volks book, and I haven't found anybody who uses this exact tuning.(I ha...
