When Curley Chalker was playing for Hank he did a song and asked curly if he could play it like Bobby Garret had done on the record and curly replied my name is Chalker and slowly spelled it out for him. If i recall correctly curly was not very long with HT after that. tracy

It begins when hearing seems good but you start having a little trouble understanding some words spoken. Your hearing will now go down so gradual you will not notice it until you are almost deaf. My hearing was damaged by loud noises years ago. To play music wearing them the sooner one accepts that fact nothing is going to replace their normal hearing. IMO the sooner they accept that fact the better off they will be. Tracy

I may have posted this before. I have long term memory but at times cant remember what i did ten mimutes ago. Back in the 40s there was a radio program whos sponser was blue ribbon beer. It was done with what later was known as the talking steel guitar which most did not know what it was at the time...

I was born with perfect pitch hearing and now get different tone in each ear. I am also up in age. Anyone know what this is and does it get better? Thanks for any info on this. Tracy

Shadey was playing out on the Jacksboro highway and had one home made pedal. I dont recall what kind of steel he had at the time. He showed me what the pedal did. Dallas Tx. Had steel all over the place and camera close up. The Nashville nye show had no steel or fiddle.but that was to be expected. Tracy

It happens and you do not realize you are losing your hearing before it is too late.

As i have posted before i started on the violin when i was a child. Took up steel many years later. It is said the violin is the most difficult instrument to master. It sure surprised me when i mastered it.
