I have been a ham since the early 70s and used to work a lot of CW and 10, 15 meters. For a long while I was a member of Navy MARS. These days steel guitar and computer leave little time for my amateur radio activity.

Wow!
The new guitar looks fantastic. I think the Remington guitars just keep getting better and better as they age so the fun is just beginning.

I got my copy of Tuff Fun Tab , and they are exactly what I had hoped for. They are not simply tabs, although this would have been fine, but these are truly aids to learning. Herb puts great emphasis on use of slants, phrasing, etc. These will make great tools for those trying to develop their skill...

I love my MIni Brut 5 which I use with a Reminington T8. I play through a 'Black Box' and the tone is outstanding. The reason I got it was that Herb Remington plays through one and anyone who has ever heard Herb knows that he sounds great. Of course, Herb would probably sound good playing through an...

I have had mine now for a couple of years and I love it. I use it every day and after almost two years it still looks as nice as it did the day I drove up to W.C.s place and picked it up. http://steelguitarforum.com/smile.gif ------------------ Remington Steel T-8 Steelmaster Gibson Console Grande<f...

I guess Bobby Koffer just proves its not how you play it, it is how you play. One evening I spent the whole evening watching him and I don't have a clue how he does it, but he in fact does play with only a thumb pick and he does hold the bar in a unique way. He also plays standing up. Fantastic play...

I have a high G tuning for the 1st string of my C6 neck - but I find I play much more frequently on my A6 neck which has an E for the 1st string. Maybe, like Chris says, the E just works better or is more like the tunings I learned on - E7/E13. ------------------ Remington Steel T-8 Steelmaster Gibs...

Although I am not personally a mason, my father, who recently passed away was a masters mason. I cannot express how meaningful the masonic prayer ceremony that was performed during his funeral celebration of life added to that service. I have nothing but respect for that organization and its members...

Rick that is absolutly beautiful and I'm sure it sounds as good as it looks. I am into almost my 3rd year with my steelmaster T-8 and while mine isn't as pretty as yours, I couldn't be happer. Not doubt about it, Herb does understand how to make a steel guitar. I never did own or even play a stringm...

Herb Remington wrote Bootheel Drag for the C# minor tuning. I originally learned it in E7, but I really like the way it plays and sounds with the C# minor tuning. I am also now playing around a lot with it. I love the many different voicings one can get with this tuning. ------------------ Remington...

I bought a Polytone about six months ago. I use with with the Black Box. For my steel guitar (non-pedal) and the kind of music I play (swing amd gospel mostly) I think it works great. I know a lot of people don't like it for pedal steel but it gives me the tone I want. I bought it on the recommendat...

When I took from Dick back in the 50's he also taught my brother who was very short at the time to play stand up base, and he, like me still plays. It would seem obvious that Randy learned more than I did, but you know after almost 50 years of not playing to be able to get that ol' Console Grande ou...

Check the settings on the firewall. If it is on, try turning it off and see if that helps the situation. With SP2, the firewall might be on by default. If it turns out that is it, then later you may want to set some exceptions so it will work, but be on to give you protection from bad guys like the ...
