I play both pedal steel and dobro in a country cover band, not bluegrass. I enjoy playing both, depending on the song. The spacing of the strings and absence of all those neat sounds you get with pedals will be different and you have to think like a dobro player. I mostly tune to some variation of G...

My rack: Peavey Tubefex,Peavey CS200 stereo poweramp, two space skb rack. two 15" 1501 blackwidows in home built pine cabinets. Sounds good, plenty of power and not a lot of $$$. I use it for outside or high volume gigs. Its not really a lightweight setup and more to transport and setup. http:/...

I will put that on 4th and try it.

Lane, thanks for the input. Your suggestions make a lot of sense, but, I really don't want to change my copedent a lot. I just want to add something different to my 4th pedal. Experimental pedal changes.

4th pedal options, E9

What changes do you have on your 4th pedal for E9 neck? I play u12 but rarely use the 4th for b6. I tried the Franklin on p4 but didn't find it very useful. I have G#'s to G on pedal 0. A,B,C are standard e9. B's on lkv. 1&2 raises on lkr. other knees standard u12.

I do play live, with 3 different bands and loud at times. Feedback is a problem with a real reso and i really dont have a good solution for that.I do have a Fishman pickup in mine that I use if it's really a loud gig. My rack system tubefex has the front input that overides the rear input. I just ha...

I agree with Carl, I tried all kinds of electronic devices, then just gave up and bought a $300 Regal reso. It sounds like a real resonator guitar, and looks like a real resonator guitar. Actually sounds pretty good miced up with a s57 and i am NOT a bluegrass dobro picker. If I don't need it, i jus...

I have both, LDG and Sierra Session. The Sierra is my gigging guitar. The LDG stays setup in my music room. The LDG does look good, but, so does the Sierra, just "different", maybe not traditional looking. Also have a GFI that gets used more than the LDG. YOu can't go wrong with a Sierra S...

I'm not familiar with the Peterson StroboHD. I don't leave my tuner in the line. I plug directly into the guitar and remove after tuning or plug into the 2nd output on my Goodrich pedal. See the sticky in the electronics about the Goodrich pedal mod.

I have two Sierra's, a u-12 Crown and a u-12 Session. I have three pulls on each of the 0, A, & B pedals and have no problem with de-tuning. I use Jeff Newman's E's @ "0" tuning on the peterson stroboflip for both Sierra's.

I use a wood dowel 1" diameter 3" long with a 3/32" hole drilled thru it. Wrap the string two or three wraps and pull tight around the lockscrew. I use SIT strings on my GFI and Sierra keyless guitars and haven't had a problem.

Thanks Mike for the reminder. I replaced the battery with the Ken Fox chip a few years back. I haven't used the tubefex in 3 or 5 years, man it does sound good.

Thanks for all the replys and information. I received the cs200x amp and installed it in my tubefex rack today. I am impressed. Dead quiet, and plenty of power/volume hooked up stereo. I have a new 15" black widow I will build a cab for for running bridge mode. I had forgotten how good a tubefe...

Peavey CS200X Poweramp Question

Anyone use one of these? single space, 170 W @ 4ohm, 240W @ 8ohm bridged.

I have a tubefex in a two space rack just sitting around not being used. Looks like this might be a good little amp setup for a low volume gig.

Advice?

THanks,

Sierra U-12 Bill Strouds "Ole Blackie"

My first guitar, still play it.This Sierra belonged to Bill Stroud of BJS Bars. I wanted to learn to play pedal steel and was acquainted with Bill through my work and wanted to start out on a s-10 but Bill talked me into the U-12. I took lessons from Bill, to bad some of his talent didn't come with ...
