Ricky, it was a 1971 model. The birdseye in those necks is about the prettiest I've ever seen. That is a clean, uncluttered undercarriage. Beautiful job all around. I'll see if I can figure out who bought this guitar from me- I'd love to know where it is.

1971 Marlen Speedy West D10 restoration by Walker and Davis

I was reminiscing with Ricky Davis about some of the Marlen guitars that he repaired, rebuilt or overhauled for me, and this one from 2004 came to mind. I checked my photo archives, and sure enough I still had the photos. Y'all feast your eyes! My local buddy Ray Walker (RIP) refinished the cabinet,...

Marlen Parts

Hi folks. I was very active on the Forum for several years in the early 2000s, but life took me in new directions, and I haven't been seen at all (by you) for quite some time. Thanks to b0b for allowing me back in to offer this stuff for sale/trade... or whatever. What I have here are some Marlen/Sp...

I had a '66, and I sold it in 1973 for $55, when everything was going solid state and you could scarcely find anyone who would work on a tube amp. I kick myself (again) every time I see something like this. Beautiful amp! By the way, I am (since 1978) the owner of a '65 Vibrolux Reverb, and this see...

Silverface '71 Twin Reverb with JBLs in NC- $1200

I'm interested in selling my silverface, non master volume Twin Reverb. The chassis stamp dates to 1971, and I haven't taken it apart to check transformer codes, etc. It has the original orange label JBL D-120F speakers, never reconed. The amp sounds great- loud and clean, as it should be. Please PM...

Peavey Classic 50 with a 15"- $450

Hey guys- I've decided to sell my 1990s tweed Peavey "Blues Classic" in "nearly new" condition. This is a 50w, all-tube "Made in USA" amp with amazing tone, power and volume. The amp is all original, and has a 15" Blue Marvel speaker. I'm guessing this would make a...

Tubefex (Peavey) and rack for sale

I'm selling this Tubefex and rack for $250 plus shipping. The unit is loaded with the Jeff Newman presets, and the original manual is included. I do not know whether it has been modified in any way, so please don't ask. I only know that it has behaved itself while in my care. One of the guitar playe...

A well-informed friend has just emailed me and he tells me that I've probably seriously undervalued this amp. Ergo, I'm going to take it off the block until I have a chance to do some research. Please close this thread.

Thanks!

Blackface Fender Twin Reverb- NOT a reissue!

http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix/3356_MVC063F_2.jpg http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix/3356_MVC064F_2.jpg The tube chart dates this amp ca. 1963, which would be the first year of production on the Twin Reverb. It's original, including the Jensens, tilt-back legs and footswitch. Tolex is w...

I've got a 2003 Eric Clapton signature "Blackie" Strat here in the shop. $850 (includes this case, not original) plus shipping. No sales tax outside NC. This guitar is in very good condition, and would be a great deal for somebody. Call 919-989-1805 and speak with me (Rick), Jon or Scott. ...

I'd like to give this gear a fair chance to sell as a package. If that doesn't happen within 3-4 days, I'll be happy to honor the first responders on the individual pieces. Folks, don't confuse this changer with the old Marlen pull-release changer that gets mixed reviews here... this is Leonard's AL...

Steel outfit for sale

I've decided to sell my personal steel outfit- I'm playing with two excellent bands, but it's all guitar and bass... no steel... so the time has come to say "adieu" to some nice gear. I have a 1982 Marlen D10 PSG (8 & 5, all-pull, green in color), a Nashville 400 amp (with Peavey mod a...

The "church" version of the B3 was the C3... same guts, different cabinet. Hammond made several organs that had the B3-style cabinet, but weren't much like the B3... older A's and M's, as I remember. I spent a lot of hours in high school hauling my buddy's L-100 around. He had a 147 to go ...
