Good Price

Is this guitar still available at $2000? If so what would you figure shipping costs would be to Missouri?

Tim,
Hillcrest is still there, right down the street from me. Belton has probably tripled in size since 65, and Bruce is still down the road in Harrisonville making his great ZumSteels.

I play lead guitar, some steel, and have played in working bands for years but have recently been away from it. Wanting to get started...

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll find my way to Radio Shack for some electronic contact cleaner and give that a try. Brad, you may be right about the static electricity in the air, it's really dry here.

I began with a Carter Starter a little over a year ago. The strings do last, and I couldn't recommend this steel enough to someone who wants to learn.

Thanks guys. Sounds like there are as many preferences as there are players. Does that third string break on everyone else too or is it just from playing (trying to) every day. Maybe I'm trying too hard.

Thanks Ann,
I'll give them a try. Also wanted to say thanks to you and all there at Carter. The Carter Starter was probably the best thing I could get when I decided to buy my first steel.

Help

I have been playing or trying to play psg for about 6 months. The Jeff Newman tapes and books are great, but I think a good teacher would benifit me as well. I am not new to music, been playing lead guitar for 35 years, but nothing I have done has prepared me for the humbling experience of trying to...

Mr. Brumley, I have played lead guitar in bands for years. I played the "Live at Carnagie Hall" album over and over until I hopefully could match Don Rich's outstanding guitar note for note. Got good enough to play the "Opry" once. I just started playing steel (or trying to play ...
