By the way, the guy that made Lloyd's cabinets did a fantastic job. The workmanship is marvelous. I forget his name but he lives somewhere in Kentucky.

I'm inclined to agree with Donny Hinson. I have always thought that, since the Twin came with two 8 ohm speakers (4 ohms) and an external speaker jack that the transformer was designed to operate into 2 ohms, if need be, since most people would use the same load for the external as the internal. It ...

James Lansing was born in Illinois and his last name was Martini. He moved to California and changed his name to Lansing. He had two brothers who moved to CA and changed their name to Martin. JBL started a very small speaker factory and his brothers worked there. They made 6" and 8" speake...

The first time I heard Earl he was using a Gibson Byrdland, playing with John Floyd's old buddy, Robbie Robinson. This has been a lot of years ago and he was great then and has done nothing but improve since. His character hasn't improved, though, because you can't get any nicer than Earl always has...

I have a program on my computer called "GOBACK". I think some of the latest Microsoft operating systems haver a similar feature but I'm still living in the dark ages with W/98. The main reason is that if I update, I'll have to get new drivers for my sound card, printer, etc. Any way, with ...

I have an older version of JAMMER and never did get an upgrade although I did purchase some additional band styles that they came out with after I got into MIDI. My latest version of BIAB is version 7. I have an old computer which I kept years ago when I upgraded, which has Windows 3.1 on it. I use ...

Steve, I use BIAB in some of my MIDI stuff along with JAMMER, another music generator. When I get the BIAB and/or JAMMER parts like I want I convert them to MIDI files, put 'em in Cakewalk and cut and paste the parts I want to save and edit them with Cakewalk. I have some pretty good sounding tracks...

I've built several of the Standel modules, the BLUE, the GREEN and the YELLOW. I have not built the RED(tremolo) module because I have not been able to find the low voltage LDR. But since tremolo is rarely used with steel, it's never been a big problem.

There is a thin piece of foam rubber over the breather hole inside the speaker on the magnet. This foam rubber deteriorates and disintegrates over the years. If someone hasn't already done it, you might want to remove the basket from the magnet and clean out this bad foam. Make sure that it hasn't g...

I just did a little research. The replacement parts specified for an M30 are the exact ones specified for the D130 and the D130F. James B. I recone a lot of JBLs and when any one sends or brings in an M30 I use the same parts to recone an M30 as I use in a D130F. I do not know why JBL ever made the M30 unless it might have been after they phased out the D130F. The M31 uses the same parts as the K130; that is, the cone has a cloth edge ...
