If anyone still has this tab, Emmon's or Chalker version, I would love to have a copy.

I realize that photo is a bit difficult to see. I have the back apron off of the guitar to see how the components will line up with the cross rods..... The parts in question are held up to the apron, they are the same parts as the classic MSA parts bobby posted a photo of.

I'm doing a little trial run of this LKV set up and it looks like if I have the lever facing the direction I want, the LKV will be rotating the cross rod the wrong way, i.e. pushing the bell cranks towards the changer instead of pulling them away. See photo below (changer is to the left, tuning mach...

Bobby, i like that idea! Is the wooden extension in that photo just attached by a bracket screwed to the wood?

Bill, that is exactly what I was hoping for!! thank you so much for sharing your rodding chart. Bobby, I have no idea when the changer was last cleaned. It could very well be gunked up. Here's what little I know about the guitar: I think I may be the third owner, bought it from a collector guy 2 yea...

Hey joe, thanks for sharing. I've looked at this manual before but didn't see a chart of which holes in the bell crank and which holes in the changer the cross rods were set in at the factory for each change. Am I overlooking something?

Wanted: Rodding chart for 1970s MSA d12

Hey all, I’m having some trouble getting some changes on my 1973 MSA d12 to play smoothly. Has anybody out there made a complete rodding chart for an MSA with double raises and double lowers? B0b (rest in peace) made this one for e9 which is very helpful. https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.ph...

Thank you both for your help! Bobby, I have bought parts for that MSA classic vertical knee lever you have shown, they are the exact same dimensions. I play Emmons set up on ABC pedals. The 5 inch length of the LKV parts barely spans my two left knee levers but at an angle it won't quite span the fu...

LKV lever combinations, photos

Hi all, I'm getting ready to add an LKV to my 1970s MSA d-12. I'm going to put the B to Bb change on it, but I'm wondering if this change is more useful in combination with the E->F lever or the E->Eb lever. This will determine where I install and whether I point it towards the changer or tuning mac...

Oops!

Strange to me that they are called Ab rather than G# but that's just semantics.

I guess this thread can be closed now.

MSA Owner's Manual: Copedent Typo?

https://www.steelguitar.com/manuals/MSA_OwnersManual.pdf Was just looking over this owner's manual to reference the factory set up of the d-12 copedent and noticed: All the E9 copedents have "A" strings instead of G#. I assume this is a typo, but does anybody know if A strings were include...

Such beautiful playing. Has anybody out there found a record of his recording history? Any recommendations of where I can hear more of his music?

Tuning Survey: Just Intonation vs Equal-Temperament

Hi all, there is a lot of content about the merits of tuning to equal-temperament (ET) vs. just-intonation (JI). (Tom Bradshaw's article is great.) I am curious to hear how people are actually tuning their instruments, hence a survey. If you use one tuning style (ET vs JI) for E9 and a different sty...
if you look at the info below the Leon Russell video, you'll see 2 steel players listed: Pete Drake and Weldon Myrick. it says the same thing on the back of the album.
Scott, thanks for clarifying, I had a hard time figuring out who played on which tracks. ...

Steel on steel

Does anybody have fun examples of players layering multiple steel tracks over each other? For example: Curly Chalker solo on Leon Russell's "six pack to go" - starting at 0:55. https://youtu.be/l2bOSsTpcl0 I also read that Sneaky Pete did this a lot but I am not sure I can tell when his la...
