Hey there, I saw this post a few days ago. It’s my new favorite song, it’s made me want to go back and improve some basic technical stuff. I’m currently in ‘vibrato school’ Thanks, fellas! Hey Steven, Thanks a lot for the kind words, that’s really nice that it’s inspired you! That means a whole lot...

Jesse, what a wonderful and inspiring track, performance and video! Inspires me to drag my Academy lap out of the closet and dig back into the soulful simplicity of a lap steel. Well done, mate!! Jesse, That is so excellent. I can't remember where I discovered that video, but have viewed it a number of times. As a new lap steel player, that song inspired me to what is possible on lap steel. What tuning did you use? I looked up your info and I think you are based out of or play around the Lo...

That’s great yeah I love mine, that guitar has worked for me for all different kinds of music and it always just seems to sound great! I have a couple other Valco steels but that’s the one I pick up all the time.

Bruce Bouton Lap Steel Video - “Beg, Borrow & Steel”

Hi there, I wanted to post this song here so that folks in the group could hear it. I had initially posted it a long while ago but I removed it because as soon as I did, I learned that the great David Lindley had just passed away. What an incredibly sad loss to the world. I recorded this song of min...

Weissenborn instrumental - Sunrise pickup

Hi there, I wanted to share this short instrumental I wrote on my Regal "Hawaii-O-Fone" Weiss copy. I absolutely love this guitar, I've been so impressed with the sound of it. I'm not entirely sure if it's from the '20's or '30's. I have a Sunrise pickup in it which I truly love, played he...

Jesse and Bruce, that is a really good catchy tune! I like Ron Funk's suggestion of Robert Plant laying down a vocal too.......and I just bet he would do it. Nice tune and playing. The song's chords remind me a bit of the song "Temple of the King" by the rock band Rainbow (Which has a slide guitar solo by Ritchie Blackmore, I think.) Tell us about your capos and guitars, please. The other player's lap steel capo looks like "Charlie's Slid...
