Okay, anything that has been getting me used to the guitar as slide is new to me. Have been looking at available stuff on the net like Sleepwalk, Aloha Oe etc. Western Swing seems a great place to start with this instrument and I love that zappy 1 4 5 stuff. I have looked at what looks like better b...

The finished 8 string modification. In the end I am happy with the original paint. The Seymour Duncan answer to the Stringmaster pickup is fine. To get that white pup cover I had to have one printed. https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1712/18490_DSC03165_1.jpg https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/use...

Yes sure David I get your point though it does look like they only pop up in Australia and at that time (40's maybe 50's) we had no trouble copying American products also as a business it seems they had quite a connection to the Hawaiian music scene and the steel could have been their main interest....

It may look like that Stephen because of the bar position but unless Trem King has a model I have not seen that trem does all strings, check them out here Trem King Site
Check out the video on drop D tuning as it shows what they are good at.

Nope, you've got it, those trems do move all six strings at once just like a regular strat trem. I was just pointing out that vibrato is not the only technique used with a trem, like, you can't drop out all the tension with a bar like you can with a trem and slam it back up to tension. That sort of ...

I get what you guys are saying but if I wanted an original then I would have bought one complete. If, after I have built this one, I continue to play instead of just going back to picking up my acoustic guitar (always appealing cause you don't have to plug them in) I may buy something complete, I do...

Thanks for your interest gents, I have estimated the measurement I am looking for at about 3/8 inch or a bit less at 9mm and I am sure that would be good enough although it would be good to have an accurate measurement if someone could do that favour for me. It does not quite fit Jack but I had, bef...
