Consider what your audience is expecting to hear. To get a recognisable commercial sound you should persevere with the finger picks. Extraneous noises can be practised away. Don't throw out the baby of tone with the bathwater of convenience :) Chill, dude. Let the guy play in whatever way makes HIM...

It only hisses when the treble is also turned up. I received a reply from Fender saying that the modeling does have some hiss.

I also compared it to a vintage Fender and it seems like they nailed the hiss...lol!
