https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2203/17987_IMG_6714_2.jpg I used to use this break down table. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018245UXC I would also bring a piece of 3/4 inch wood just slightly bigger than one of the two lap steels I gigged with to make myself a poor man's double console...

You've inspired me to go back and listen to Charley Pride "In Person" recorded live at Panther Hall in Texas. Lloyd Green was the steel player and it's sparse and sublime.

Re: shop made featherboard

Rabbet Hole. I see what you did there. Well played. Jon, If you have scrap boards you can make your own. Here's a video that explains shop made feather boards simply built. Looks like they used a band saw to cut the fingers. If you don't have a band saw you can use your table saw. You can use the mi...

A lesson learned

My own fault. I had dismissed Post Malone because of his face tattoos and grill. I was surprised to really like every song on this Tiny Desk concert episode. Bonus, the guitar player layers in some tasteful slide licks! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCcks-fwq2c

Good timing on this post. I'm looking for a used Justice Pro or Pro Lite, Emmons setup, either 3x4 or 3x5. Ron has been great with my first guitar which was an S10-Jr so I'm looking for an upgrade.

Depends on the model. On my MicroPro I turn master all the way and adjust the gain to taste. +plus the limiter to keep it from getting too gainy if necessary.

I've used exactly that for acoustic guitar. Sounds great to me. Naturally YMMV depending on guitar/pickup. But the MicroPro is so versatile I always seem to find something that works.

New Mexico trip in August

I'll be in Ruidoso August 6th and 7th and in Bernalillo from the 8th to the 14th. So if you've got a steel gig where I can come check you out let me know! I'll also drag along a dobro and a regular acoustic in case you're just up for front porch pickin'!

Still remains to be seen but the adjustments I made seem to have done the trick. My c# hits just right every time now. We'll have to see if making this post jinxes it and it's back to it's tricks when I go to practice tonight. This is on a Justice S10 so just for my own reference I'll take a look an...

I use a Shubb for 6 string dobro tuning and a powdercoated Michael Hillman grooved round bar for 8 string C6. Easy to get a hold of for slants and pull offs but plenty of nice smooth movement string to string and up and down the fretboard. You can find Michael Hillman here in the forum.. in fact I t...

Overtuned looking like a good bet. I loosened the nylon tuners and added a bit more pull at the lever stops. Will keep messing with it. Thanks!

Inconsistent 5 string raise from B to C# driving me bonkers

So I've been playing just a little over a year and never had a problem but recently I've begun to notice myself playing just HORRIBLY out of tune at times. So at first I'm like "back to basics for you my friend" intonation practice etc. Which never hurts... but eventually I've come to noti...

I love this idea Mark. Are the parts that touch the legs angled to match the leg angles or just straight? I can't tell from the perspective of the picture.

I've got a good sized pelican case that holds my effects and a few other goodies that don't fit in my pack-a-seat. Roll it in, take out effects/goodies, turn it on it's side next to me makes it just the right height. Job done.

All previous answers are correct IMO. That said I find ChatGPT to be a useful research tool. It came back with sensible ways to target gro...

SOLD ELSEWHERE Reverend Warhawk 390

GREAT guitar. But this is the one that's not getting played of my stable. I'm just more of a tele guy. This is a 2007 model, bone stock except for having installed straplocks. Asking $650, I also like partial and/or full trades. : ) https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2203/17987_IMG_7114_1.jpg ht...

Brown 50's MOTS Supro for sale at Dallas event

Comes with original cardboard case and padded case. There is a chip on the edge of the nut that I've taken a picture of. Doesn't affect playability at all. Currently in open G tuning. Asking $275 for all, also may be interested in trades. : ) https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix2203/17987_IMG_711...
