Great idea
Im wondering how this downtuning effects pedal changes?
I really like the idea of have another usable E way down there.
Is it quick or do all the pedal changes have to be dealt with too?

Let me try to make this a little more clear. I have circuit testers and volt meters but not the knowledge. How would you test for a shock hazard between a pa system and my bass? A concrete pad and my bass or steel? What if we are out of phase with each other? Just because something has a ground does...

Testing for shock hazard
What would be the fastest, easiest way to test for potential shock hazard on a unfamiliar environment? I've been blasted a couple times from bad, reversed or non existent grounds and I dont think much of it. Walked up to the mic one night in Nevada and got thrown right into the drum set. I never pla...

Me too
I played Bass for years and years and cant play anymore due to the same thing.
That pinky finger stretch on the bass is now out of the question. The doctor says it problem is in my left elbow, pinching. Oh well.
On the upside I can still hold my pedal steel bar and so I got that going for me.

Wheeler
I was driving down Sandy Blvd in Portland, Oregon in the 70's and saw a building with a steel guitar in the window and pulled over and talked to Lee Wheeler. What a life changing day that was. I could not afford it, didnt know how to play it so I gave him all the money I had on me as a down payment ...

Moved LKL and LKR
I have a Carter D-10 and I moved the LKL and LKR pedals about a 1 1/2 " to the left.
My left leg was in kind of a twisted position when I got it and moving the pedals fixed that problem.
Anybody else experience this problem?

2 Pedal solution
OK, how about this.
Master volume knob on top somewhere by the pinky finger and the far right pedal raises from the master volume setting and the pedal to the left could lower the volume from the master volume setting.
I dont know that this would create a advantage of any kind but who knows?
Thoughts?

turn it over
you are gonna have to get a basic understanding of the workings of the steel guitar.
Flip it over and see what is not moving when you press the pedals. A lot of adjustments are gonna be required in the care and feeding of this instrument

Hmmm
It appears that I didnt think this thru, it would not hold a steady volume if your foot was removed.
