Hi folks,

I, too want to add a "+" to John. I had just placed an order with him for some Dekley parts.

I had received the parts, and at a decent price, too.

Thank you, Mr. Widgren!
All the best.......Pat.

Hi Gary, Don't worry about the question, we all have to learn sometime.... Anyway, the terms are used in relation to the signal level out, like you said. A normal amp's input signal is about 1/2 a volt (or something like that...) A microphone, or guitar pickup's output is much lower than that. Hooki...

Hi Jerry, We're figuring you're still talking about your Dekley, right? Anyway, the free-play is adjusted (1) by the stop-screw located on the shaft crank that you hook up your pedal rods to. Or (2), what Jim had brought out, about where the pull rods are located on the bell crank. Farther away from...

Jerry,

Having mentioned "wrong guage or too loose"...... brings up another possibility: (after what Ian and Bobby said), a heavier set of strings might help.....if you have not already tried........

I like using a heavy set, and when tuned, they mostly stay in place......Pat.

Hi Jerry, Dekley fingers do not have grooves in them to align strings. PSG fingers usually don't. If a groove develops on the finger, the string sounds like a sitar. The strings shift a little on my Dekley, but not that bad.......could his shifting string be wrong guage or too loose? Hope you guys f...

Hi Dave, Did you have a problem with reverb hum before the new cases? If not, I heard (in another post) about a posible cause, that if the power transformer is mounted too close to the reverb tank, it will cause hum...... Just a thought. Cases do look nice though, and as Larry mentioned the "we...

Hi Judson, I had that problem before.... 1. Check if a part of a string (ball end) got stuck in the changer mechanism. 2. What Bobby mentioned, check the return springs. 3. During your string change, you might have used the wrong string. I changed guages for a lower string, but the guage I used was ...

I agree with Fred.

I, too, never had a natural tremolo in my voice, and because of that, I do not add vibrato to my playing, either. I just try to hit the notes, properly.

Some people play without shoes... I would wonder if there are more who play without vibrato?

Hi John, I read an older post (can't recall under what title...) that kind of explains NYXL's difference and popularity with some. It was discribed as a "highly magnetic alloy", and that it's 'sharpness' in sound falls between nickel and stainless steel. It has been said that all guitar st...

Hi Michael, Putting it another way, you don't tune your half stop by adjusting your return spring, it's not done that way. Sometimes there IS NO adjustment, and you just need to work with what you have. I have to work with it, myself. I have a Dekley pedal steel, there is no adjustment for tuning my...

Half stop tuning.

Hi Michael, The "return spring" returns it to pitch after you release the lever, and would not "tune" the half stop, properly. Loosening the return spring could mess up your tuning on that string, too. The half stop works in that AT the half stop, you are just starting to feel an...

Kind of like Samuel's experience. Not many psg players, here where I live. Because of that, any psg for sale is far and few between. So, having an account there, I turned to Ebay. A number of Carter Starters were up for sale, and I tried to bid on them, but were always outbid. In that frustration, a...

Hi Jason, I agree with go-the-cheaper-way of fixing up your BMI instead of buying a Sho-Bud of questionable origin. As far as your BMI pedals being a little misplaced, I'm sure those can be moved to a more comfortabe position, plus adding other pedals and levers, if you so desire. Your are fortunate...

Hi Jerry, What it sounds like is just what Jon and Dave have brought out. Let's put it another way: When you have the pedal pivot screws AWAY from the shaft, it increases stiffness of the pedal action, but requires less up/down movement to reach the stop. Putting the screw closer to the shaft, makes...

Hi Clay, Just a suggestion on the volume pedal. Aside from the pedal's height, pick one with the hinge tward the rear, giving you a "car gas pedal" style of use. If the hinge is in the middle, your knee goes up and down, when using the pedal, and may clash with the underside of your PSG. ....
