I have been playing with no shoes, in fact I adjusted my pedals to be very light touch so they don't hurt my feet. I'm thinking I should practice with shoes on though because my c pedal is so light I could be on it and not even know. So I think medium to light pressure is best. and..... please wear ...

Pedal action on carter
I have to agree on the bellcrank position. I just changed my pullrods to C pedal , I put them on the top of bellcrank (furthest from the cross shaft. Very nice light push tightens the strings. My problem now is the pedals feel mushy. Any help appreciated.

Raising vs. lowering?
Roger,
Having been working on my 2 carters for quite a while now I can tell you anything more than a whole tone raise is tough. The amount of pull and the movement required on the finger may not be physically possible. The booya lower is of course there but tats physics for ya....

Carter bellcranks
I know this is an old thread but heres my solution. I used an electic driver with a clutch. Set the torque low , 4 or 5. A T10 bit with extension. Boom, no problem. Hope that helps someone.

Well I have Rusty Youngs D-10. He didn't beat it up too much. The tone is to die for.
I might be selling it, If I buy a 10 grand Resound. Any one think I should?

rodding
Thanks Roger, I am looking for the rodding chart. Now since I changed my A and C pedals I am changing my E raise and lowers to the RK It is definitely not easy, the holes in the changer and the BC that you use really make a difference. Trial and error all day. Good health and hang in there. Paul PS ...

So I just switched 4 rods on my Carter D10 Basically Day to Emmons. I used the middle hole on the Bellcrank. Now the raises seem very hard on the A and C pedals. ??? what did I do wrong?

Lowering the 6th a full tone on a knee lever is a fairly common move, but what lever is used is purely personal taste. Some players happen to like the E raises and lowers on different knees so that the raise-to-lower transition can be done smoother, and maybe that's why Rusty did it. THANKS Donny !!!

Paul - That whole-tone sixth string drop on LKR may have been a carry-over from Rusty's days of playing Sho-Bud steels, which typically had the RKL lowering the E strings So Rusty's setup may have been to engage both RKL and the LKR to obtain a V chord with any standard grip at the Open Chord Posit...

Paul d Some people prefer splitting the raising and lowering of the E's to different legs. Normal Emmons setup is LKL Raises E's LKR Lowers E's There is not right or wrong way of doing this. Whatever you are most comfortable with. Regards Thanks Mark, I forgot to mention this guitar is setup as Day...

Rustys D10
Well, I am the proud owner of one of Rusty Youngs psg's. A Carter D10. On the LKR it lowers G#(6) to f#. Why would he do this? Also I would prefer the standard LKR to raise the E to F. LKL lowers the E's to D# as expected. Any one around S Fla to help?
Thanks
