I second Mark Tulbert's remarks. Very well played Dave, and also nice that you added your style to it. Really enjoyed the performance.

I've just taken delivery of a Fender ToneMaster Twin & found the overall sound to be clear and punchy. After spending an hour experimenting with the tone controls and getting used the amp, I am experiencing a "harshness" when I play B & C, strings 3,4,5 up around the 15th fret area...

I Honestly Love You

Has anyone heard the version of this song that Olivia Newton-John recorded for an album cut in Nashville? It has some very tasty pedal steel in the mix & I am not sure who it is. Could be Paul or Tommy but to my ear there are traces of Bruce Bouton.

I'm using a Telonics 409 that I think gives a little thicker sound & have adjusted the 2nd & 3rd strings to suppress the "harshness above the 12th fret. At this point I am happy with it.

Excellent group. They set the bar (steel pun) that much higher. Interplay between Jay Dee & John is so tight & obviously well rehearsed. Are there any bands of this caliber around today? Apologies for my ignorance .

The Feral Swing Katz are world class (in my opinion) & base in Sydney, Australia.
This clip is just a sample of their work.

Hi Barry, if you are ever driving through to Melbourne give me a call.

Great informative interview with Lloyd. He sure has some insight into the evolving of the pedal steel guitar as we know it. Enjoy.

Paul, here is a pic of Lloyd from 1971, in the studio where Mark worked - Nugget Studios, Goodlettsville. The bottom has the edge of a double exposure but end of the Sho Bud is clearly visible & the pad where the C6th neck had been.

The Next Time I'm In town, live by the Notting Hillbillies. Great tune - not sure of the year but both Mark & Paul look considerably younger!

I installed a Telonics 409 in my '71 Emmons p/p. First thing that I noticed was the clarity & improved string separation. Also very quiet Karen, so I'm sure that it would solve your problem. I use mine through a Quilter Steelaire.
