2 min classic Buddy Emmons solo from 1977

CLassic BE solo :D . Must be one of the longes steel guitar solos on a comercial recording? The Norwegian band Jonas Fjell Band recorded this in Nashville in 1977.

BOSS GT-1000 CORE - Patches for steel

I have been programming steel sounds on my BOSS GT1000-Core, but maybe someone has made any good sounding G1000 patches they would like to share/swap?

I use one when I have to fly to gigs (5 times so far this year). Great guitar. Light weight, stays in tune, does not move on stage, sounds fine (humbucker in mine). There is a definite difference when switching to my Push/Pull or Franklin, but the difference in sound and build quality is smaller tha...

That was Greg, yes. He borrowed my 78' PP for that show. The guitar came from Seymour to Mike Sweeney, then to Bob Knight, and to me in 2007. The guitar has done 100s of gigs in Norway, no issues what so ever, hardly needs tuning :)

Buddy Emmons 2 minute C6 solo

In 1977 the Norwegian "Jonas Fjeld Band" released The Tennessee tapes. The last song "Roll On" features an over 2 minutes long classic Buddy Emmons C6 solo. Pretty cool stuff:

Jimmy played a lot on the early Willie stuff. And on "Texas in my soul" in 68 - fantastic. Also check out his playing on the George Jones albums "Sings Bob Wills" and "Salutes Hank Williams".

Like Herb said: There's a lifetime of learning in that one album. The first steel album I bought, still a favourite. I first thought this sounded pretty easy to play, then when studying Jimmys playing more thoroughly it was obvious that this his playing was on a different level. Jimmys phrasing, tou...

Big fan of the Midland records and Pauls playing on them. Quality all the way. C6 is a great tool to have live and in the studio. I love putting a song or two an a record with the C6-neck. I find it hard to understand the tuning as much as I would like, but getting something on tape that sound "...

The power supply that comes with the pedal is not relieable. I have had three of them gone bad, two on live gigs 😬. I now carry one extra just in case. Anyone know of a better power supply for this great pedal, let me know.

2 songs on my "new" Franklin guitar

Live from the Norwegian Steel Guitar Club show we had a few weeks back. This guitar was originally owned by Hal Rugg, and can be seen on YouTube from ISGC in the early 90s. Great guitar that I can not give the right justice, but here are two attempts. Indian Love Call (love the Jimmy Day version) an...

One of the best steel players ever! Great tone (P/P wrap around 64?), super clean playing and the most beautiful licks. All his work on the Bobby Flores albums are superb.
