Standel Studio SG12

I just aquired a Standel Studio SG12. A friend gave it to me, he asked me if I wanted a project amp. He said it was noisy. I plugged a guitar into it and tried it out. It crackled and hummed but sounded pretty good. I cleaned all the pots jacks and switches with Deoxit. It now sounds perfect. Crysta...

This looks interesting. Very similar to a Champ but with some building options to tinker with.

Torres Overhaul kit

I bought one for my 71 pro reverb less the power supply caps. "i had already replaced them. A little pricey. Get a schematic of your amp and list all components you want to replace and order from Hoffman amps or another supplier. Doug Hoffman offers a lot of fender knowledge on his website.

Pro Reverb

Yes it should be very loud. Have a tech check it out. It may need a cap job along with some tubes.

I think it's a matter of preference on mic placement. The middle of the speaker will be brighter than the edges. Experiment and have fun.

Hilton Tuner Out

I, think this is what Mr. Hilton is describing for a tuner out. The .1uf cap is soldered to the resistor that is sticking up then to a resistor and to the center jack in this case. So the center jack is my tuner out. http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1205/12171_hilton1_002_1.jpg http://bb.steelg...

Twin Reverb

I just want to put my 2 cents in. When retubing an amp I would recommend having a tech check the bias and also an amp that old should have the filter caps replaced if they haven't been.
