Thanks for this post. I was seriously considering putting a deposit down on a new MSA. After reading this thread, there’s absolutely no way. Really, really appreciate you guys helping me dodge that bullet.

Jensen Vibranto speakers

Any of you guys familiar with the Jensen Vibranto speaker? A friend of mine has a collection of vintage fender amps and accessories. It’s mind blowing. Every now and then he’ll move a few items to make room for something else. He’s letting go of dozens of speakers. Many show very little wear o...

His solo on “blue and lonesome” from the Muleskinner studio album is what made me want to play pedal steel.

Bill “Brad” Kieth was one heck of a player. RIP

Fender volume/tone pedal early 60’s in box

That’s right. Doesn’t appear it’s ever really been used. Selling for $350, includes shipping. Volume opens towards heel, not toe. You can have it switched easily. https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1712/10970_1280B587E2154FAA8C423C34247D5F44_1.jpg https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix171...

Fender volume/tone pedal

I purchased an early 60’s fender volume/tone pedal. I bought it online. I paced by the door waiting for it to be delivered. When it arrived I left work early. Could hardly wait to get it plugged into my stringmaster. Imagine my heartbreak when I got it plugged in only to realize the volume opens i...

I purchased an HX unit a couple months ago—the unit without amp modeling. I haven’t used an analog pedal since. I love it. There are so many useful effects that I’m still discovering. It’s intuitive and easy to use, compact enough to fit in my pac a seat, and the effects sound awesome. Initi...

Multi effects pedals

Considering a line 6 HX or comparable processor. Anyone have experience with these units? Is it possible, using the multiple inputs and outputs, to assign various effects before and after the volume pedal? My amp does not have an effects loop. I’d love access to all the distortion, delays, and mod...

Love playing instrumentals more than anything. I particularly like pickin out bluegrass & old time tunes: East Tennessee Blues, Ragtime Annie, Road to Columbus, Whiskey Before Breakfast, Flopereno, Angeline the Baker, Solider's Joy. Fun to play and great for woodshedding.

I resisted the pack a seat for a long time. It just seemed like an over priced accessory. I used everything: drum throne, keyboard bench, chairs, stools. Inevitably, screws fall out, or something breaks, had one fall apart on stage and there I was, on the floor in front of a room full of people. Emb...

Black widow 1505

Have my FSK in the shop for repairs. Asked them to put in a black widow to take a few pounds off. I'm pretty sure they're replacing the existing speaker with a 1505. I know they're designed as a PA driver. Should I have them take it out immediately or should I wait and give it a listen? Anyone else ...

Certified check returned and received today. For what was essentially a cash transaction, prompt shipping was all i wanted. Not, drop what you're doing right now, but certainly more than 'when I get around to it.' I don't think that's in any way an unreasonable request. No hard feelings, Mr. Portwoo...

I'm sure that's all true. I'm sure he's a great fella. I never accused Mr. Portwood of anything. You guys apparently have a "when I get around to it" shipping policy. That doesn't fly with me. Interesting business model.

Good luck with that.

Apologies, Lonnie. I sent a certified check, which is pretty much the same as cash and I sent it overnight express. The nature of the transaction gives me no security, and I expected prompt shipping. Payment sent overnight mail, certified check. Mr. Portwood says he doesn't know when he'll have time to pack up the steel and ship it, because he has a gig this weekend. Could be the first part of next week. Not comfortable with $1300 floating out there with no definite shipping date or conclusion t...

Bob Dylan, Shadows in the Night. Great record, phenomenal steel playing.
