Hi Roger ...
Ole Rob here ...
I found that the 47nf capacitor cut way to much hi frequency and rendered it useless.
Doing some experimenting I found a 1nf down to 680pf were much better choices and allowed use of the 500k tone pot.

Also I have PM'd you a message.

Hi Roger ... I took receipt of my L3 September of 2000, possibly shortly after yours was shipped. I don't have a compensator pull on C6, 6th string lower, because that E to D# didn't need one. No -- you cannot move the compensator pull to a different lower slot, but you can remove it freeing up that...

Hi Johnny ...
Glad to hear you joined the MSA team!
They can definitely use the help.
Back in November 2021 I ordered a U12 Legend and continue to wait for it to be built.
Possibly you'll be the one to put the end plates on??

Congrats ...

Hi Roger ... I own a Legrande3 with lower compensators. These pulls were indicated with a black tuning nut and rubber washer, and taking up a lower changer slot. The compensation rods connected to a stationary cross shaft. This design allowed a hex nut adjustment to slightly flatten the string after...

E9/B6 weight with case

Hi ...
I am thinking about having an E9/B6 built.
Would like to know if weight will be under 50 pounds in case.
Could Universal owners chime in with their guitar weights.

I haven't flown with a steel yet so any help or guidelines would be appreciated.

Thanks...

Hi Austin … I too own a LL3 with 108N’s and want to experiment with different pickups. I seem to be experiencing a lack of bass and midrange, which may be due to my equipment. Using a Nashville 400 I have an MXR EQ on the effects loop in order boost bass and some mid frequencies. As been stated here...

Hello everyone... I am really surprised that the Fender Steel King circuit board hasn’t been modified yet? Possibly just replacing the TLO72 chips with the Burr-Brown OPA2604 or OPA2134 IC's would make a vast improvement on tonal quality. As the Nashville 400 went under passive and active upgrades t...

Thanks for the reply Doug and YES I will get in touch with you. Long ago on the forum I read that some mod needed to be done to the counterforce plate in order to add more cavity depth for a standard pickup. I don’t have the measurements handy but the 108N width and length are pickup standard size, ...

Emmons LegrandeIII pickup replacement

Hello friends … If it’s possible I would like to change out a 108N pickup in my Legrande III. It’s my understanding that I need to do a mod in the pickup cavity on the counterforce plate in order to make room for a standard size pickup. Can someone tell me what this mod entails? Thanks… From the Sou...

Hi Jimmie, I have a pair of 710's that are slightly used (less than a year). I sold my steel and didn’t want to let the 710's go with it because I liked them, so I re-installed the original single coils. They show no tarnish or wear. My new Emmons came with humbuckers so I won’t need these. The bott...

Hi Bob… I am assuming that your new roller nut assembly is gauged, if so I may have some advice. On my older Emmons the rollers were not gauged so when stringing up the guitar I would start at the end of the tuning peg and wrap the strings towards the key head, all worked great. When I took possessi...

Hi Terry… It’s true, just ask Emmons to send you samples and they will. Hi Terry…

I have heard these pickups. There is only one usable decent sounding selection of the bunch. Save yourself some money and just get the single coils or the 108N.

I have the 108’s on both necks on my Emmons and they have plenty of growl and sound great..
