Tune

Post by Autry J. Pruitt »

What is the best tuning for blues playing? I am new at the lapsteel and I need to know the best tuning for blues and traditional black american gospel. (8 string) I tried D. Campbell tuning but it is extremly hard to get my lower strings to work. apruitt@jtreemgt.com<font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p align="center">[This message was edited by Autry J. E 7th.

Ask the players from the "House of God". , like Robert Randolph,Beard, Chucky, Lonny, Elliott, and many more great true blues steel players, always E7th.

Bobbe-right on. top down E-D-B-G#-E-D-B-G#. Good for strumming too. But I used to put an F#(the 9th) on the 5th string for more versatility. That was my 8 string top neck for years, E6 was my bottom neck. Ah the good old non pedal days. we didnt know that we needed pedals until we got them ....al Image
