Korg DTR Tuners

Post by Jim Johnson »

I am considering a Korg DTR Tuner and have
come upon two different models. The DTR 1
And DTR 2. Can anyone help me determine
which one is best suited for steel guitar,
i.e., most accurate, which one is the most
expensive, etc.
thanks,
Jim

You will be upset with yourself if you go for anything less than the DTR-1 !!!!

Eventho,it may cost a tad more, It's well worth the money.

I've had one for a few years now and It is the envy of every group I played with.

Beats those little hand-helt devices hands down.

Not everybody uses rack mounted tuners.
Considering previous threads on this great Fo'rum, there seems to be quite a few using those handheld deepvices clamped on the legs.

I had a DTR2 at first, took it back and got a DTR1. The reason is I could tune my other guitars on stage EZ. I am now setting up a back up rack, that one will live with a DTR1, unless someone gives me the other. The feature on the more expesive one are good and useful if you are a working musician, ie: playing in a band, etc. IF not, then ----?????

IMHO, the Sabine RT series is worth a look. I've got the RT7000(the cheap one)about 149.00, and I like it better than the Korgs. Big display, strobe or meter type tuning, and easier to see for an old coot like me.

Stephen, who carries it?? I have never seen them at Guitar Center nor in Musician's Friend's catalog. There must be a web site, I'll do a search.
[This message was edited by Steven Knapper on 18 June 2002 at 06:25 AM.]

Steven, Musician's Friend carries them, as wellas my new favorite, Jackson music. Musician's friend has them on their website, and Jackson can be reached at 1-800-616-5390.
They're good folks, and will try to beat ANYBODY'S prices. You can see the tuner on the Sabine website. God bless!

I have had a DTR-1 for a long time now. I really love it. The only complaint I have ever heard is the price.

Good stuff has it's price.....

Have you looked at the new "MSA" ???

At $6,000+, It's a machine not everyone may wish to purchase. Likewise, the DTR-1 is a top-notch unit. To be trueful, I would just as soon have it as a "Peterson".
