A friend was telling me about a non pedal book by Herb of a number of his A6 tunes. Anybody know if this is still available?

Thanks!!

He was probably referring to the Herb Remington/Rick Alexander “Tuff Fun Tab” book. Herb and Rick are both gone now so I doubt the book is still available.

I used to have a couple of Herb's beginner videos, and if I remember right every song was in A6th, that was his default tuning. I think there are still copies of his stuff floating around. Ethan Shaw was his student and might not be a bad person to ask about all things Herb Remington.

Ernie Ball put out a five-folio series on A6th tuning back in the 1960's. Volume 1 started with 6 strings, volumes 2, 3, and 4 went to the 8 string tuning, and volume 5 was an introduction to pedals, probably intended for the Fender 400. These show up, as individual folios or the complete set, on eBay but not often.

Speaking of A6 tunes/tab... I have a "16 Songs" book that includes 8 songs in A6 tuning (6-strings). USA shipping only.

"Ernie Ball Method For Steel Guitar, Standard A-Sixth Tuning"
In 5 Books
(Book 1 in A-Maj high bass tuning beginners only)
There were also an additional 12 single arrangements available "to supplement books 2 and 3"
A "one-tuning" system eliminating deviation and confusion
Applicable to either six or eight string instruments
Colorful studies and songs carefully arranged and graded
Certificate of promotion at the end of every book
Non-cluttered "easy to look at" lesson page layouts
Clear illustrations demonstrating pick and bar technique
Lays the groundwork for PEDAL steel guitar playing

All above direct quote from Ernie Ball literature

I do have copies of the 5 folios but not the single arrangements. BUT they are in storage in California since I left there in 2013.
