National triple 8
I have a 1955 National triple 8 console that I am considering giving a face lift. She needs some cosmetic work, but everything functions as it should. It appears that at one time or another, at least one fretboard has been replaced, as the color schemes on them don't match. I suspect that this guitar may have been in a fire, although there are no burns on it, but the paint is discolored. I am concerned that the paint on the back of the plexigalss fretboards that are on it now may come off if I remove them during the restoration. Does anyone know of a source for replacement National fretboards?

I don't recommend taking off the plexiglass fret boards. The paint will shred and be a mess. How do I know this?
There are no replacements. I wish there were.
Good luck with your restoration. They are cool guitars.
