Hello fellow players. I know this subject may have been visited several times before, but I would appreciate fresh input. I play a 1992 Mullen pre Royal Precision
12 Zane Beck tuning that I bought new in ‘92. Great guitar. It has the stock single coil pickup with a great tone but single coil noise. I tried an E66 when I first got the guitar. It killed the tone. I went back to the single coil.
Lately I have been pondering changing pickups to combat the noise. I have a 10 string BMI with a Dr. Gene Turner Power Boost pickup that is outstanding. I would love to have one for my 12 string, but none to be found.
Question: Which pickup would be recommended to eliminate noise but still have great tone. Opinions on the LXR-16, Alumatone, or others.
Better yet, anyone have a Turner Power Boost 12 string narrow mount they would part with?
Thank you,
Dan Rollans @ Steelers Choice
