Is there a downloadable patch with lots of string options,is it something someone share with me or is it something I have to buy.

If you are asking about string virtual instruments you may want to check out this list of 10 free string vst instruments.

Remember, Band-in-a-Box does not work with VST3 plugins so make sure the plugins you try are VST2.

Which version of Band-in-a-Box do you have, Audiophile, UltraPAK, MegaPAK or ProPAK? Band-in-a-Box Audiophile and UltraPAK have a fairly large amount of strings RealTracks.
