---> double neck D8 Fender Stringmaster (sold)

Post by Erv Niehaus »

I have for sale a blonde, double neck D8 Fender Stringmaster guitar
As you can tell by the pictures, it is in excellent condition.
It has the 24.5" scale length.
The serial number under the bridge cover is 02850.
It is all original and comes with legs and a tweed, hard shell case.
You would be hard pressed to find another Stringmaster in this condition.
I am asking $2,100 for the guitar with free shipping in the lower 48.
I take either PayPal or a check.
Thank you so much for your consideration. :D

Erv. Do you know what year it is?

Tom,
It's not a real early one, you can tell by the key head.
But the tweed case tells me it's from the middle '50s to the early '60s.

Hey Erv,
'59 was supposedly the last year of the tweed case. I've read that '57 was the only year that had that foil Fender sticker on the outside of the case and most of them got knocked off right off the bat. Pretty safe bet that yours is a '57. She's been babied, that's for sure.

Curious!

You know, I think you could loosen those strings and pop the tuning key pan off, and find a handwritten date.
Might make a difference in your sale.
Its in perfect shape!
Lord Almighty its a long scale 1954 Double Neck Stringmaster. Will I set down the D-18 and Telecaster for a while? Yes... perhaps for quite a while.

Why bother? If it’s from the fifties, the year it was made makes little or no difference in the value, especially with a guitar in this (gorgeous) condition.

Cartwright,
Yes, you are correct.
I doubt if you'll ever find another double neck Stringmaster in this shape. :D
